The Rifidi Platform is composed of two distinct product sets one with a focus on prototyping and the other focused on production application development and deployment.
Rifidi Toolkit is a Eclipse based IDE aimed at prototyping and simulating the RFID hardware and RFID Events in an RFID ecosystem. With Toolkit it is possible to build a 'Virtual' RFID infrastructure with Software Defined RFID Readers, RFID Tags, and RFID Events that behave just like their real-life counterparts. Rifidi Edge is a robust middleware platform for developing and deploying RFID applications. Rifidi Edge takes care of the complexities in interacting with RFID and other sensor devices and provides a high perfomance rules engine called Esper that has been customized for RFID data processing. Built on top of a lightweight, modular deployment, server platform called Equinox OSGI, Rifidi Edge gives you a powerful environment to create business applications that interact with RFID Hardware and process RFID Data.
